Meet Me At The Levee
There's no better way to start the New Year than meeting friends at a New Year's Levee. Levees were introduced to Canada by the Governor of New France in 1646, and Maritimers continue to embrace the tradition. There were dozens of events across the HRM and we were out in force to sample some of the good times! Families came out to Cole Harbour Place for the annual Levee hosted by Councillor Lorelei Nicoll. Councillor Nicoll funds the rink and pool at Cole Harbour Place so the community can start the New Year off with a free skate or swim. (or both!)
We also checked out a few Legions, the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club, the Dartmouth Curling Club and the Mic Mac Aquatic Club and bring you some of the highlights here. Everywhere we went, people were starting the New Year in fine style!
